The Ér Hangja Association is organizing an Erasmus+ mobility programme called The Role of Media in Environmental Protection with a total of twenty-four young people from Estonia, Hungary, Romania, and Serbia, accompanied by one group leader from each country, in Săcueni between 30 August and 6 September. During the one-week meeting, participants will partake in workshops, training sessions, and practical activities aimed at developing their skills in media content analysis. They will cover topics such as identifying misinformation, verifying sources, and understanding the impact of fake news on the environment. Apply until 10 August by clicking the following link: https://shorturl.at/4esEq. For more details, visit the Érhangja International Facebook page.
Through the EU funding that the four partner organizations won, the international youth exchange aims to draw attention to the importance of environmental awareness. Not only does it build bridges between young people and the media but also between young people from different cultures who share a common goal of protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development. An important objective is to increase young people’s commitment to the environment and sustainable development, especially those living in rural areas or with a low level of education. Furthermore, the media will be used to develop a deeper understanding of its impact on critical thinking and environmental issues. It is important for young people to become well-informed and responsible media users, to critically evaluate the information they receive, and to contribute to the development of sustainable methods. Through the project’s activities, young people will gain both knowledge and practical skills to help them understand the complexities of climate change and sustainability and actively participate in ecological initiatives. In the long term, this will help them to become active citizens and to be more involved in civic engagement and environmental projects on all levels. Environmental awareness is one of the most important issues nowadays, and the impact of human activity on the environment is a major concern that needs to be addressed. Anyone can play an active role, and the project will lay a solid foundation for a future in which young people are prepared to tackle environmental challenges, transform their communities, and shape a greener, more mindful society. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
