The aim of the initiative launched by the Ér Hangja Association in June is to change the behavior of local residents regarding environmental protection, particularly recycling. The project titled Recycling is the pillar of sustainable development strives to convey the long-term and short-term importance of our responsibility towards our environment through easily understandable digital educational materials. An interesting aspect of these digital educational materials is that four short films will be created with the participation of high school students and six animated films will be made using LEGO tools. Throughout the project, five local young volunteers will work on various solidarity activities to achieve the project’s goals.
They will contribute to positive changes in Săcueni and the five administratively connected settlements (Ciocaia, Cubulcut, Olosig, Sânnicolau de Munte and Cadea), as students from these villages will also be involved in the project.
In June, the project preparation and planning of activities to be implemented took place. Meetings were held, tasks were distributed, and an implementation plan was completed. In July, the volunteers focused on creating animated films intended for elementary school pupils, which they will start presenting to them from September on.The project’s narrow goal is to involve at least 500 schoolchildren, raising their awareness of the importance of environmental protection and recycling through the digital educational materials that will be created later by the volunteers. At the same time, they aim to achieve positive changes in the entire local community regarding the adoption of responsible behavior towards the environment. The project is implemented with the support of the European Solidarity Corps and in partnership with the Săcueni Town Hall.
