The Ér Hangja Association is launching another free course aimed at developing digital competencies for the retired members of our community. The project called Click it until you make it! will start in DEcember and is a joint initiative of our association and the Premier Vocational Art High School and Elementary Art School in Békéscsaba, Hungary, allowing also Hungarian retirees to participate in the program. Keeping in mind the significance of adult education and lifelong learning the four-month course will involve retirees over the age of 55 who find it important to acquire new knowledge to help them cope with the rapidly evolving digital technologies.
Supported by the Erasmus+ program the project will see the two organizations’ members create twenty interactive instructional videos containing information and guidance on developing digital competencies. This digital content will be user-friendly and easy to understand, enabling retirees to enhance their basic digital skills. An important aspect is that they gain useful and practical knowledge on using computers, smartphones, the internet, e-mail and quick communication methods like Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, etc. The project is a crucial and much-needed initiative in our region for several reasons. On one hand, it provides learning opportunities for a vulnerable group that would otherwise be excluded from these chances. On the other hand, it helps the elderly effectively use the possibilities offered by digital devices to improve their quality of life, to participate in social activities and stay active in the community despite physical limitations or other challenges.
