A sister settlement meeting will be organized again in Sacueni on June 8-11. Under the coordination of Ér Hangja Association. The series of events named E-tourism in the EU will be attended by representatives from Edelény, Héhalmi, Gyermely, Algyő, Mucsony (Hungary), Kamocsa and Kürt (Slovakia), as well as local representatives.
One of the goals of the four-day meeting is to be able to focus on answers to the needs and problems that have arisen in connection with the tourism of their localities, and to define common strategic directions for the development of e-tourism in their localities and their coordination. One of the mid- and long-term positive benefits of the project’s synergy is the creation of a joint website, accessible for all partners (covering 3 countries), on which the digitized tourist services of the respective settlements can be continuously updated and promoted.
At the meeting the settlements will present their current situation in the field of tourism, and will also examine the advantages and opportunities EU membership brings for the given sector. At the event, the participants will discuss and evaluate the problems that the EU is currently facing, their effects and opportunities for the tourism sector. In addition, another main priority of the project is gender equality, equal opportunities, including the support of women. The E-Tourism in the EU project, n the medium and long term, through the digitization of tourism services and additional products and services related to this sector, can provide opportunities supporting gender equality, integration, equality of chances for the above-mentioned women and girls (regardless of age, social affiliation, disability, etc.). During the event, the participants will learn about the work of the International Trade Committee and the Culture and Education Committee through the presentation of Gyula Winkler, Member of the European Parliament. The delegations and participants will also discuss other current issues affecting the EU.
The program of the twin-town meeting will be made even more attractive and interesting for the participants by many other events, as a small turistic exhibition, a cooking competition, a folk dance and folk music show, and many other leisure activities are also on offer by the organizers of the event.
The event is organized by the Ér Hangja Association together with the mayor’s office of Sacueni and with the support of the Europe’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme.
